"Nancy thought she was the only one who loved to knit but then she met some Brown Owls and together they knitted and crocheted a host of woolen treats."

After 2 successful exhibitions as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Knitting Nancy is back for a 3rd time in 2013 with Knitting Nancy's Aviary.

Knitting Nancy is an ever changing group of artisans who gather their knitting and crochet skills together to create exhibitions of textile wonderment in the fair city of Adelaide, Australia.

Getting down to detail

With only 5 more days of holidays I thought I should probably get a move on with the piece I'm working on for the exhibition. I'm struggling a little as I tend to loose interest in projects if I've been working on them for too long. The plan is to make one more mattress - a green one and then add detailed stitching on each mattress and a frill for the bed skirt. Oh and of course the pea!

How are all you other Nancy's going? Are you like me struggling on the last few steps or perhaps working on a tight deadline suits you?

A few of us were talking recently about a Knitting Nancy catch up in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for details - sounds like a great idea!

  1. Hi there, I love what you have done so far, looks amazing! I'm struggling to get motivated but feel positive about something working out in the end!! I would be in for a Knitting nancy catch up - I was actually thinking of suggesting something like that. Also when exactly is the due date? panic panic...

  2. I am setting myself a few deadlines I have decided. By the end of tomorrow I will have 3 sardines finished. Yes. It is going to happen! I bought 11 balls of beautiful wool today using up a Lincraft voucher. VERY EXCITING and I now feel more motivated than yesterday when I saw you!

  3. Oh - I am free for a catch up any weekend after the 17th of Jan. I am thinking a picnic somewhere, or Cafe Komodos on Prospect...? Weekends are best for me :)

  5. Catch up sounds great! I'm away from 22-26 Jan, but any other time is good for me. After the silly season, I've a lot less shifts at work (who doesn't love to work in retail...) which is wonderful!
